A New Technology

"Watching Games in Virtual Reality"

Many people dream of the possibility to go to an NBA game, let alone to sit court side at an NBA game. The NBA made it so people can do just that without even being at the game. Last year, the NBA released a new virtual reality which makes it able to people to watch a game with a court side view while hearing play-by-play commentary. While watching a normal game broadcast, one can hope to catch all of the quick game details, but with virtual reality it is like you are there in the flesh and you do not miss a thing.

Spero Dedes said, "You're not watching the game through a lens, but as if you're watching the game through a window, you can see texture and depth perception."

This technology is expected to take off worldwide. While there are still updates and improvements being made, people are able to watch the NCAA Men's Final Four from both 2017 and 2018, along with quite a few regular season games and an All Star game. Another great factor about the virtual reality is that it is reasonably priced for what one is getting. The virtual reality is so realistic it has be stated that people feel as if they can reach out and grab the players.

The NBA started off running with the release of the Virtual Reality and I do not see them slowing down any time soon. I believe that this product will continue to get more and more popular and will revolutionize how many people come to watch sports.
